Information about our safeguarding method
Devengo S.L. is a company registered in Spain with company number B-88353412, authorized and regulated by the Bank of Spain as a Payment Institution (Entity Registration Number 6940) for the provision of payment services.
Chosen safeguarding method: Segregated accounts
In accordance with Article 21 of Royal Decree-Law 19/2018 and Article 16 of Royal Decree 736/2019, Devengo has opted for the segregated accounts method to protect client funds.
How We Protect Your Funds
For you as a client, this means:
- Full segregation: The funds you receive from your users or that we manage on your behalf are kept completely separate from Devengo’s own funds.
- Insolvency protection: In the event of financial difficulties at Devengo, these funds are protected against claims from other creditors.
Technical features of our segregated accounts:
- Held in authorised credit institutions in Spain.
- Operated as demand deposits to ensure immediate availability.
- Clearly identified as “payment institution client balances.”
- Funds are never mixed with Devengo’s own funds.
- Protected against claims from the payment institution’s creditors.
Unlimited Protection
Unlike bank deposits, which are covered by the Deposit Guarantee Fund up to €100,000, as a payment institution we offer full protection of all funds with no limit on the amount.
This protection applies to:
- All funds received from payment service users.
- Funds received through other payment service providers.
- Funds corresponding to transactions in progress.
- Funds held by our agents (if applicable).
Regulatory framework
This protection is guaranteed by:
- Royal Decree-Law 19/2018, of November 23, on payment services.
- Royal Decree 736/2019, of December 20, on the legal regime of payment services and payment institutions.
- Supervision by the Bank of Spain as the competent authority.
Transparency and control
- This safeguarding method is registered in the Special Register of Payment Institutions of the Bank of Spain.
- It is publicly disclosed in our contractual documentation and service terms.
- It is subject to ongoing supervision by the Bank of Spain.
